Proper Size Socket: Ensure the correct size socket is selected for the bolts. Using an improperly sized socket can cause stress and lead to cracking. For example the 19mm sockets should only be used with 19mm bolts.
Torque Control: Over-torquing is usually the main reason why a socket would crack. Ensure that you are not exceeding the recommended torque levels for the socket you are using. We recommend that your using Max Recommended torque 30Nm to 95Nm (Dependent upon manufacturers guidelines for Channel and fixings). Using a torque wrench rather than an impact pneumatic drill is also recommended for precise torque control.
Inspect Sockets: Regularly inspect your sockets for any signs of wear, damage, or fatigue. Cracks, deformities, or visible wear are indications that the socket should be replaced.
Impact Drill Settings: Ensure that your impact drill is set to the correct power and speed settings. Using excessive power or speed can lead to socket damage. This is usually the problem when using an impact drill driver and our sockets.
Lubrication: Lubricate your sockets and fasteners as this can help reduce friction and stress during installation.
Proper Technique: Use good technique when operating the impact drill. Avoid sudden or jerky movements that can increase stress on the socket.
Replacement Schedule: If you’re using our sockets extensively, they will wear out over time. Make sure to replace them periodically, even if you don’t see visible damage. If you are using them correctly however you should get a many years out of them even with extensive daily use.
